Fanny, I found your blog thru Guinevere's photography blog and was curious, since I am a Jane Austen fan and Mansfield Park is one of my favorites of her novels. I love your pictures! I hope you'll check out my blog Liz Darcy @ http://kayeli.blogspot.com. Your sister in Christ, Liz Darcy
Fanny, I didn't get to finish my comment because my mom needed to get on, so here goes (I tend to ramble a bit so bear with me): Ok, as I said I Love Christy, both the book and TV show. We have the complete series. Second, did you see the movies where they redid the show? They weren't as good in my opinion, but just curious. Third,I'm just plain nosy:) Have you seen any of the Jane Austen movies? If so, which ones? Which (if any) of Jane's books have you read? These are just a few nosy questions from a Jane Austen fan. Liz, yes, I've seen the Christy movies, and aside from finishing up the story, that's all they were good for, in my opinion. They weren't very good compared to the TV series (which was awesome) I've seen quite a few Jane Austen movies: Two Sense and Sensibility versions (2008, 1995), two Pride and Prejudice version(1995, 2005), Emma (2009), Two Persuasion versions (1995 and 2007) and Mansfield Park (2007). I haven't read any of her books, but I think P&P is on my school reading list this year. I started Persuasion, but I never finished it. I've seen a few other movies that are along the lines of a Jane Austen: one's called Daniel Deronda; have you seen it? It's really good! What Jane Austen movies have you seen and what books have you read?
Fanny, Totally agree about the Christy movies. My sister couldn't stand the actor who played David in particular. I've seen the two Sense and Sensibility versions you have (1995,2005), the two Persuasion versions you have, 4 different Pride and Prejudice versions (1995,2005,Bride & Prejudice, and P&P:A Latter Day Comedy), 2 Mansfield Parks (2007,2008) 2 Emmas (Kate Beckinsale version, and Gwyneth Paltrow version) and I'm dying to see the new Emma and Northanger Abbey. I've read all her books (have them, in fact). You will love Pride and Prejudice (the book, I mean). I haven't seen Daniel Deronda,I'll have to check into that.Have you read Just Jane? I got it for Christmas and I absolutely loved it! ~Lizzy Darcy
Liz, I agree about the actors in the movies; I wish they would have just kept them "as is". The new Emma is AMAZING!!! The theme is now my ringtone :D. I also like North and South; it's an amazing movie and it's Jane-Austen-ish. I have never read Just Jane, but I've though about it.
Fanny, Ooh, I've seen North and South, too. I absolutely loved it. I can't wait to see the new Emma! As for the award, you're perfectly welcome:) Lots of love from your sister in Christ, Lizzy Darcy
